What attractions can we reach on foot?

From the Haus am Schloßberg, you can reach the town center in 5–10 minutes: the Haus des Gastes, Oberstaufenpark with its playground and mini-golf course, the Aquaria water park, the museum, the church, and the train station, as well as many shops and cafés. You can also hike directly from the house to the Buchenegger Waterfalls.

What can you do in rainy weather?

In bad weather, we recommend the Aquaria water park with its sauna, exciting museums on Lake Constance (e.g., the Zeppelin and Dornier Museums in Friedrichshafen), Sea Life Konstanz, or the Allgäu Mountain Farm Museum. Or simply spend the day with us in our game room.

What excursions are suitable for families with children?

Particularly popular are the Alpsee Bergwelt with the Alpsee Coaster and climbing forest, the Allgäu Skyline Park, Ravensburger Spieleland, and of course the Aquaria water park with its water slide.

How far is it to Neuschwanstein Castle and Lake Constance?

Neuschwanstein Castle near Füssen is about 70 km away, and Lake Constance with Lindau and Bregenz is about 35 km away. Both are great for a day trip.

Which natural highlights are particularly worth seeing?

Among the most beautiful are the Buchenegger Waterfalls, the Breitach Gorge near Oberstdorf, the Eistobel, and the Starzlach Gorge—all of which are impressive gorges and waterfalls.

When is the best time for excursions?

Oberstaufen is worth a visit all year round: in spring and summer, hikes, mountain railways, and swimming lakes beckon; autumn enchants with its colors; and in winter, ski resorts, toboggan runs, and the wintry Eistobel await.
